Climbing Gym Etiquette

Give climbers room

Don’t crowd someone who’s on the wall; they have right of way

Stay clear of fall zones

Never sit, stand, or leave gear under a climber. The same goes for problems that crisscross or overlap; wait until the entire climb & fall zone is clear to start.

Ask before giving beta

Share tips only if someone asks; avoid “beta spraying”

Watch your chalk

Loose chalk is prohibited in the climbing gym. Please use chalk balls or liquid chalk. Rental chalk bags and chalk balls for purchase are available at the front desk.

No food, drink, or gear on the mats

But feel free to keep it with your stuff in our cubbies or designated storage areas. If using a camera or tripod, please be respectful to other gym-goers; your camera does not give you the right of way.

Respect gym staff & setters

They're here to help everyone

Gym Policies

Be kind

We welcome any kind of climber. Inappropriate behavior won't be tolerated.

Waivers are required for everyone

Every guest, whether climbing or just visiting, needs to have a signed waiver before entering the gym. It only takes a minute, and once it’s done you’re all set to enjoy the space. Parents/guardians must sign for minors.

Check In at the front desk

Everyone must check in at the front desk upon arrival. First time visitors must complete a mandatory orientation covering gym rules, safety protocol, and facility layout.

Age Restrictions

Children are welcome at our gym, provided they follow the same rules and etiquette as everyone else. Children under 14 must be directly supervised by an adult. Some areas have age or experience requirements for safety reasons.

Be a "helicopter parent"

Children under the age of 8 must be closely supervised by an adult at all times. There must be a 1:2 parent to climber ratio for kids under 8 years old, and 1:3 for kids aged 8-14 years. There are no unsupervised drop-offs at any time. Children ages 8-14 who wish to use the fitness equipment must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also in the fitness area.

The gym is for climbing

We love having kids and families here, but the padded floors and walls are designed for climbing, not running games or tag. Please help us keep the space safe and fun for everyone.

Food and drinks are welcome, just not on the mats

Feel free to bring snacks or a water bottle, but keep them in the lounge or designated areas. This helps us keep the climbing surfaces clean.

Climbing Shoes are Required

Please, no barefoot climbing or climbing using street shoes or sneakers on the mats & walls. Outdoor climbing shoes must be cleaned before use to prevent dirt buildup on holds. Children whose shoe-size is smaller than our smallest available rental size are welcome to climb in socks or their own shoes, provided they’re clean from dirt and grime.

No climbing shoes in the restrooms

Please change into other shoes to use the restrooms to help keep the holds & mats sanitary.

Groups of 6 or more should reserve ahead

If you’re planning a party, team-building event, or group outing at our fitness center, please book in advance so we can make sure the space and staff are ready for you.

Follow staff guidance

Our team at the rock climbing gym is here to keep the gym safe and welcoming. Please respect their instructions, as it helps everyone have a better experience. Access privileges can be revoked at any time for violating rules, policies, or common sense.

Health & Physical Condition

Climbers should be in good health and free from conditions that could impair their ability to climb safely. Climbing under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited, including the recent past use of drugs or alcohol.
